Poem for Democracy

Democracy is a bottom-up thing:
You can feel it in the air.
People, families, neighborhoods,
Towns and cities,
All engaged, declaring and building
A better life.

It feels like:
I can make my own life good;
We can make our families,
Neighborhoods, towns and cities good.
We have a vision and we have power
And we are not afraid.
