Declaration of Energy Independence

We acknowledge that we are at a point of losing faith in our democracy. And we resolve to awaken the genius of our people to discover how to live free and resourceful lives.

We will no longer pollute the earth and atmosphere with our waste.

We will trade for resources but we will not go to war for them.

We will generate energy in clean and natural ways, and we will discover our way to energy freedom.

We will invest in our people, and we will replenish the earth that we call home.

Note: I woke up this morning with these words in my mind. Instead of my usual period of meditation, I reached for pen and paper. This writing reflects my heartfelt longing for my country to be whole again, to be an inspiration for all mankind.
